If not, I hope you’ll be watching. The Parents as Teachers National Center board of directors certainly will. In fact, they’re in St. Louis for a regularly scheduled board meeting anyway. Thursday night they’ll be gathering as a group and listening carefully for early childhood messages.
Where does each candidate stand on universal pre-K? How committed are they to funding early childhood initiatives? How supportive are they of national legislation such as the Education Begins at Home Act, Even Start and PIRCs? Do they really ‘get’ the return on investment that can be had by starting early rather than later?
Where do you stand? Check back after the debate and let us know how your candidate did.
