If no one talks about education, does it really exist?

If a tree falls in the forest but there’s no one around to hear it fall, does it make a sound? It probably sounds a lot like the candidates’ positions on education: silence. We education advocates had hoped that educaiton issues would surface as an important issue during what has seemed like a prolonged election season. But as Gregg Toppo reports in USA Today, it’s been “near silence.”

After watching  three national debates and perusing the candidates’ speeches and statements for months, I have to agree.

If you agree that education issues—particularly early childhood education—should be getting more attention, make some noise!
