Mirror, mirror

When your baby uses all her senses to stimulate learning, her brain makes connections! She’s learning who she is and that she is separate from you.  She’s also noticing reflections and what is in them, especially when they change.

When your baby is around 3 1/2 – 5 ½ months, try this: Hold her on your lap with a hand-held mirror held so she can see into it. Talk to her and ask her questions:

Where’s the baby?
What’s the baby doing?
Can you touch the baby?

As you carry her around your house, point out her reflection whenever you pass a mirror or window.

What happens when you stimulate her thinking like this?

You help her brain grow!
